Fred has died
Posted: Sunday 10th February, 2008

It is with great sadness that we have to report that Fred, our beloved surgery cat, had to be put to sleep on Thursday 7th February. Fred was admitted at the clinic some seven years ago as an entire stray after he had been run over by a car. His lower jaw needed to be reconstructed and detailed X-Rays revealed that he had an old pelvic fracture, that he was carrying two air gun pellets in his body and that he was a carrier of the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Once he had recovered from his injuries he decided to stay at the clinic and had been for years a regular feature at our reception and in the waiting room. Few weeks ago he started to loose weight and a kidney tumour was diagnosed which was unfortunately inoperable. Nobody knows how old Fred really was, as he had already been an adult cat when he first arrived at VWVC. He will be very sadly missed by all of us at the clinic.
